Google opens online video store
It’s been coming for quite some time but now it’s official: Google has opened an online video store which will allow owners of premium video, movie and TV content to sell their libraries via a Google search interface. The beta Google Video program has been live for around 18 months now and by my reckoning, your average Joe Punter hasn’t really caught hold of it yet. Not like Apple’s iPod music store, which also sells video. Many, many Big Media + Technology compnies have also got this type of concept in their future grand vision plans, it’s mainly a question of who can get the biggest foothold in the public imagination. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
