Blogger not allowing ads/services to be displayed by Google competitors

Personally, I wasn’t too surprised when I read this morning that Google had asked one of its Blogspot users to remove a MSN search tool from their Blogspot site. According to what I’ve read in various forums there is nothing in Blogger’s Terms of Service to prevent use / advertising of Google competitors. If Google want to lock their competitors out, though, In fact, it still surprises that Google allows its main Australian search competitors, Overture and Sensis Bidsmart, to advertise their services via Adwords.
