Google Adwords Starter launches
In order to allow tiny, localised businesses to enter the world of SEM more easily, Google has released a new Adwords product, Adwords Starter. The new product is a pared-back version of standard Adwords, with far fewer advertising and targeting features.
I guess the reasoning for this product is that Google has discovered many small business owners find Adwords too complicated to set-up. The new system presumably gives them an easier way to a set-up an account (albeit an account with much fewer capabilities).
From a professional search marketers perspective the new system is very limited, but at least you can upgrade to Adwords Standard at a later date. It will probably benefit Google’s bottom line - but for small businesses, having a professional Adwords account would give them a much greater benefit in the long term.
