Here’s a screenshot of BidSmart’s pay-per-call trial service called ‘click to call,’ which is now up and running. As I wrote previously, PPCall is a new form of pay-per-click advertising that allows web-users to request a phone call from advertisers.

Fairfax’s new CEO – former Rugby World Cup winning All Blacks captain, David Kirk – isn’t getting much good press. Last week plans by management to axe almost 70 jobs sparked industrial action. A number of commentators, including the ABC, linked Fairfax’s woes to the “threat that digital technology poses to the future of newspapers.”

AC Nielsen has announced that one-tenth of the world’s population make purchases online. That’s 627 million people who have ever shopped online, including 325 million in the last month.According to their “Global Online Shopping Habits” survey, Books are the most widely purchased item, followed by DVDs/Video/Games and Airline Tickets/Reservations at number three.
