Is this a Google bug?

August 7th, 2007 Posted by : Daniel Benton

As search evangelists we practice what we preach here at Found. Our typical weapon of choice when searching is Google although, in an attempt to remain impartial we will throw the odd query to Yahoo! and NineMSN/Live. You can imagine our surprise when we found these results for a search for “child care” after searching

So… what kind of industries work best with Adwords?

April 11th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

I certainly wouldn’t have thought snack foods were one of the leading categories. But then again, after seeing this “Sponsored link” ad alongside a message in my Gmail account, I could be wrong. It’s Adwords for Cheese Rings. Hope they get some extra traffic from this post

Google Adwords Starter launches

March 29th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

In order to allow tiny, localised businesses to enter the world of SEM more easily, Google has released a new Adwords product, Adwords Starter. The new product is a pared-back version of standard Adwords, with far fewer advertising and targeting features.
I guess the reasoning for this product is that Google has discovered many small business

Google responds to Click Fraud commentary

March 10th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

Google responds to the click fraud commentary. Although there is still a complete lack of transparency with regard to the actual “invalid click” numbers, Google must be congratulated for making some kind of public comment to the advertising market about click fraud. As far as I know, Yahoo, MSN and local search engine Sensis haven’t

In this Wired article, author Charles C. Mann investigates the potential rise of cost-per-action search engines ad systems, in response to click fraud problems on pay-per-click systems such as on Google and Overture. One such CPA search engine already exists - Snap.com.

Click fraud experiment

December 5th, 2005 Posted by : Found Agency

How big a problem is click fraud? Minor or breath-takingly large? It’s been a burning issue ever since the introduction of pay per click advertising systems and it’s not going away. Not until there is finally some transparency on the real click fraud percentage rates, that is.
Web Guerilla, aka Greg Boser, is looking for

Google Flash ads

December 1st, 2005 Posted by : Found Agency

It’s official. With almost no hullabaloo, Google’s content ad network has begun allowing the use of rich-media Flash ads. Given that Flash ads are the ‘holy grail’ according to most major online marketers, this is potentially a big shake-up to online publishers and advertisers.
In the world of brand marketers, who focus on building brands rather

Pay-per-call: enter the new PPC

October 20th, 2005 Posted by : Found Agency

If you haven’t already heard, there’s a new black in online advertising: pay-per-call. For businesses that would prefer to have customers phone them directly, rather than visit their website, pay-per-call could be the solution.
Sensis is doing a trial run of a pay-per-call system with their BidSmart service. It seems like consumers and businesses both win

Eric Schmidt: Why PPC Works

October 20th, 2005 Posted by : Found Agency

“You’ve got to be kidding! People actually click on this stuff?” This was Google chief executive Eric Schmidt’s thoughts when shown Google AdWords for the first time four years ago. Schmidt made the confession during a conference of the Association of National Advertiser’s in Phoenix. (See article). Prima facie it does seem pretty crazy that
