Google Adwords Starter launches

March 29th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

In order to allow tiny, localised businesses to enter the world of SEM more easily, Google has released a new Adwords product, Adwords Starter. The new product is a pared-back version of standard Adwords, with far fewer advertising and targeting features.
I guess the reasoning for this product is that Google has discovered many small business

Google & Verizon get cosy in the USA

March 29th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

Australia’s big classified ads providers may like to take note of a recent Adwords reseller deal struck by the USA’s Verizon SuperPages.com and Google. Here’s an article detailing the deal. What is more interesting to me personally is whether any Big Classifieds firms follow suit here in Australia.

Google’s market share continues to rise

March 29th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

Will this ever stop? The latest figures out in the USA show that Google’s share of the search engine marketing continues to grow at the expense of its main competitors, Yahoo & MSN. The figures are not Australian (Google’s local market share is probably even bigger than in the USA) but they do point to

March 27th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

Here’s a tight little bundle of free software that every keen Googler probably already has in their arsenal: the Google Pack. Note the Google Video Player at the bottom right of the screen. Even amid their 30th birthday company celebrations, I’m sure the executives from Apple noted that one.

As reported by Clickz.com last week , Yahoo Search Marketing in the USA will soon change its trademark bidding rules to prevent advertisers from “keyword squatting” on their competitors’ brands (some people may know the practice better as “drafting” or “hijacking”. You can read the Clickz article about Yahoo’s trademark policy change here.

Google lays on the Charm factor

March 20th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

Google rarely reveals operational information to its own shareholders let alone journalists, however last week it set a precedent by inviting eight journalists to spend a morning with the company’s CEO, Eric Schmidt.
This BBC report reveals what happened at the morning / lunch meeting, so far the only report that I have read. If you’re

March 20th, 2006 Posted by : Found Agency

We recently did some pay per click advertising work for a consumer website using a 1300 phone number as its domain name. What’s a “phone name” I hear some of you ask? It’s simply a 1300 or 1800 phone number that actually spells a business name / word if you look at the number keys
